Each of three major service projects could be the crown jewel of most clubs, but RRC keeps expanding our show of love and support for those who have served and made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. That includes veterans and all first responders.
Our "Roswell Will Never Forget" 9-11 ceremony was completely revamped and expanded this year. RRC sponsors and presents this solemn remembrance of the attacks on America in 2001. The committee of over a 20 Rotarians and 100+ volunteers bring this program to the community of Roswell. Report Attached.
This joint venture of RRC and the City of Roswell was held around the reflecting pond at the Roswell Area Park. Represented were all of the Roswell first responders. Patriotic displays of our flag, a color guard and drum corps helped to punctuate this serious time of reflection.
Hundreds of citizens attended and there was much press coverage of the event recognizing the efforts of Roswell Rotary and the City.
For Memorial Day, we fill the grounds of City Hall to put on a day of music and tributes to our military services. A committee of 30 with over 100+ volunteers setup the stage and put together a stirring tribute with music and speeches to help Roswell honor our veterans.
RRC sponsors two Adopt-A-Platoon events throughout the year to assemble and ship care packages to a platoon of troops we adopt. Hundreds of boxes with donated provisions get packed on a fun Saturday with 30+ Rotarians and volunteers.

The ceremony was started with an honor guard and the presentation of the colors.

For several weeks, signs all over town promoted the ceremony. Newspaper coverage was intense.
Our regular meeting becomes a somber ceremony as we dispense with regular club business and spend the entire hour honoring our military and fallen soldiers.

This ceremony draws people from all over Atlanta is is one of the biggest in the city. All sponsored and presented by Roswell Rotary.
For many weeks prior to the packing day, we collect donations from a suggested list at our meetings.
Over 210 troops received care packages from our club with useful conveniences, snacks and other remembrances of home.
